boatLa Ciotat

We fell in love with La Ciotat ten years ago, and still think of it as one of the best kept secrets in Provence. Because of its sometimes troubled history as a shipbuilding town, it has escaped mass tourism and retained much of its traditional charm. Fishermen still sell their catch on the old harbour every morning, and you can hear old men setting the world to rights in Provençal on the quaysides. The cranes and gantries of the old shipyards are local landmarks and form a unique seaside townscape. And since La Ciotat has reinvented itself as one of Europe’s leading luxury yacht fitting centres, some of the world’s most spectacular private boats can be seen moored here.

We have been lucky enough to acquire an apartment in a prime top-floor location on the harbourside. You can see its three large windows in the middle of the building to the left of the church in the photo.

Why not come to La Ciotat for your next holiday? You’ll find all the information you need on this website.
